Dr Lisa Fiorentino obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2014, after completing training in Anatomical Pathology at the Royal Hobart Hospital, Tasmania and St. Vincent's Hospital in Sydney. She graduated Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Malta in 2004.
Since 2014, Dr Fiorentino has been a Staff Specialist in Anatomical Pathology with NSW Health Pathology, and has most recently been based at the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle. Lisa reports a broad range of routine and complex pathology cases, although her main subspecialty area is gynaecological pathology. Since her registrar years, she has been regularly presenting at multidisciplinary team meetings, and is currently presenting QML cases at the weekly Gynaecology Oncology Tumour Board.
Lisa has also been actively involved in teaching pathology to medical students, pathology trainees and also trainees in other specialties. She has been the Lead for pathology education for radiology trainees in NSW and is also a member of the RANZCR Education Subcommittee. Previously, she was also a Lecturer at the University of Newcastle.
