Dr Joe Gatto graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland in 1987.
He completed training as a General Pathologist at Royal Brisbane Hospital in 1996.
He has worked in private practice ever since. There was an initial stint with QML (Sunshine Coast) from 1997 to 2005. After this, he was a founding partner in Coastal Pathology, where he continued as co-managing Partner, until Coastal Pathology was acquired by QML in 2019. From that time, he has worked at QML (Sunshine Coast), in anatomical pathology and cytopathology.
