Workplace Health & Safety Screening

It is a legal obligation under the Queensland Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995, and equivalent Acts of other States and Territories (i.e. a common law duty), that all employers take reasonable care to provide a safe working environment for employees and visitors to their workplace.  In some industries, this requires pathology testing to monitor employee's exposure to hazardous substances and materials they may be working with. In other industries employees require relevant immunisation to protect them against high risk disease within the workplace.

In line with this QML Pathology offers a range of testing to assist in monitoring and confirming the safety of your employees whilst in the workplace. Testing includes:

Hazardous Substance Screening:

  • Heavy metals

  • Herbicides

  • Pesticides

  • Asbestosis.

Immunisation / Serology Status Screening:

  • Q Fever serology

  • Hepatitis serology

  • Mantoux testing for TB.
