Regional Laboratories
QML Pathology has 18 strategically located laboratories stretching from Cairns to Ballina. Complimenting these laboratories are over 145 regional collection centres linked via our expansive courier network, making QML Pathology one of the most comprehensive providers in the local industry.
Our regional operations contain all the service delivery options available in metropolitan areas with liaison, collection and courier services connected to each region. Most importantly geographic location in no way compromises our commitment to the delivery of a quality product with our laboratories supervised by experienced Pathologists and scientific staff.
Bundaberg
The Bundaberg Laboratory covers the area from Maryborough to Bundaberg. Supported by the region's five collection centres, the laboratory provides a wide range of testing including haematology, biochemistry and immunohaematology.
Cairns
The Cairns Laboratory services 14 collections centres which are spread from Port Douglas and Mossman in the north to Tully and Mission Beach in the south. The region also extends west to the Tablelands taking in Atherton and Mareeba and the more remote areas of Normanton and Weipa. Our laboratory offers testing in the fields of biochemistry, haematology, histology, microbiology and blood bank.
Central Queensland (Rockhampton, Emerald and Gladstone)
The Central Queensland Branch covers the coastal areas of Gladstone through to Yeppoon and west to Emerald. The region's network of nine collection centres and three laboratories are services by an on-site Pathologist and offer comprehensive testing in the fields of histology, cytology, microbiology, haematology, biochemistry, immunohaematology and endocrinology.
Gold Coast, Tugun and Northern Rivers
Our Gold Coast, Tugun and Northern Rivers Branch covers from Upper Coomera in Queensland to Ballina in New South Wales. The region's 33 collection centres are serviced by an on-site Pathologist and four laboratories, providing a wide range of testing including haematology, biochemistry, blood bank, microbiology and anatomical pathology.
Ipswich, Darling Downs and Granite Belt
The Ipswich, Darling Downs and Granite Belt Branch covers the central localities of Ipswich, Stanthorpe and Toowoomba. This region is serviced by 20 collection centres and two laboratories. A dedicated Pathologist supervises specimens from this region and provides a wide range of testing including biochemistry, immunohaematology, haematology, microbiology and endocrinology.
Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Branch services the north and south Burnett regions from Blackbutt to Eidsvold. Our collection centres are located at Nanango, Kingaroy and Murgon, with a housecall collector servicing Gayndah to Mundaburra. Our laboratory at the Kingaroy Specialist Centre performs basic haematology, biochemistry and blood bank, with a limited range of microbiology.
Redcliffe
The Redcliffe Branch services suburbs from Carseldine to Caboolture, west to Woodford and east to Bribie Island. Our laboratory at Redcliffe Peninsula Specialist Centre is supported by 18 collection centres throughout the region with two on-site Pathologists supervising a range of haematology, biochemistry, blood bank, urgent microscopies and histology testing.
Sunshine Coast and Gympie
Our Sunshine Coast and Gympie Branch services 22 collection centres from Caloundra through to the Noosa Hinterland and north to Gympie. Our three laboratories, facilitated by three on-site Pathologists, offer a wide range of testing including haematology, biochemistry, urgent microbiology and anatomical pathology.
Townsville and Mackay
The Townsville and Mackay Laboratories are serviced by 16 collection centres which are spread from Mackay to Ingham, and out west to Mt Isa. Serviced by an on-site Pathologist, the laboratories offer a wide range of haematology, microbiology, blood bank, biochemistry, endocrinology and histopathology testing.
