- 1985 - Graduated from The University of Queensland
- 1989 - 1990 - Practiced as a GP in Beenleigh and Chermside before returning to the hospital
system to complete his pathology training - Trained in haematology at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, Greenslopes Repatriation Hospital, and the Australian Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service, before obtaining his fellowship
- 1996 - Commenced as a haematologist with QML Pathology and is currently Pathologist in Charge of Haematology
- Also acted as Visiting Consultant Haematologist to the ARCBS (1996-1997) and the Mater Hospital (1996-present)
- Special Interests: coagulation disorders, iron disorders, non-malignant haematology, the use of expert systems in diagnostic medicine
