Dr Bryan Knight  BSc (anatomy) MB ChB MMed (anatomical pathology) FIAC ACAP PhD

After graduating with his Bachelor of Science (Anatomy) in 1973 and a Bachelor of Medicine and
Surgery in 1976 from the University of Rhodesia, Dr Bryan Knight continued with his studies and
in 1985 completed a Master of Medicine (Anatomical Pathology) at the University of Cape Town.
Dr Knight completed special training in gynaecologic and breast pathology at the University of
Cape Town, and became a Fellow of the International Academy and Board of Cytology (FIAC) in 1997. He has been an Associate of the American College of Pathologists (ACAP) since 2003 and was granted his PhD at the University of Cape Town in 2004.

Dr Knight has been a Consulting Pathologist in private practice and at a variety of hospitals and universities from 1986 onwards in Cape Town, South Africa; Edmonton, Alberta and Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. In 2007, he was appointed the Interim Director Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, Director Anatomical Pathology and Consulting Pathologist at the British Columbia Cancer Agency, Vancouver.

In 2009 Dr Knight joined QML Pathology as Pathologist in Charge of the Cytology Department.

Special Interests: Breast pathology, gynaecological pathology, cytopathology, Chlamydia trachomatis infection in the female genital tract, liquid-based cytology, the use of immuno-histochemical and molecular techniques, and applications of image analysis in cytology and in virtual microscopy.
