- Graduated from Monash University
- 1969 - Joined the Monash University Department of Pathology
- 1974 - Obtained his fellowship after studying neuropathology at the Royal Perth Hospital
- 1975 - 1980 - Employed as Staff Pathologist at Melbourne's Queen Victoria Hospital
- 1980 - Appointed Deputy Director of Pathology at the Mater Hospital
- 1987 - Appointed Director of Neuropathology. He held this position for 14 years, during which time he was responsible for neuropathology across Queensland
- 1986 - 1987 - Won a Queensland Government Traveling Scholarship to study neuropathology in Glasgow
- Joined QML Pathology in August 2001 as a Consultant Histopathologist
- Special Interests: brain pathology, diseases of the muscle and nerve
