- 1978 - Graduated from The University of Queensland
- 1985 - Obtained fellowship in anatomical pathology after training at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital
- For 14 years, Dr Walker had a specialist practice in liver and gastrointestinal pathology at the Royal Brisbane and Princess Alexandra Hospitals
- Has also worked as an honorary Associate Professor in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Pathology at the University of Queensland
- 1999 - Joined QML Pathology as Consultant Anatomical Pathologist in the Histology Department
- He has been published in the American Journal of Surgical Pathology and has written more than 60 articles on topics such as cancer, hepatology, gastroenterology and transplantation
- Special Interests: liver pathology, gastrointestinal pathology
