Dr Peyton’s initial registrar training years were spent at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, before he returned to his home state of Queensland to complete a fellowship at Pathology Queensland’s Central laboratory at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
His current areas of professional interest reflect the focus of various research projects in the fields of gastroenterology, endocrinology and breast pathology, as well as gynaecological and non-gynaecological cytology.
Gaining fellowship with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, he initially worked as consulting histopathologist and cytopathologist at Helix Pathology, furthering his experience in gastroenterology, cytology and solid tumour pathology. Joining QML in 2015, his professional interests have since extended to include gynaecological pathology, and head and neck pathology.
