Dr Rebecca Adams graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (Hons1), from the University of Queensland in 2004 . She was the recipient of academic prizes, as well as being awarded the University Medal.
She started as a resident medical officer at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2005, and in 2007, she commenced her training in haematology. She worked as a haematology registrar at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, and subsequently at QML Pathology, with rotations at the Australian Red Cross Blood Service.
During her training, she was actively involved in research projects, and has published review articles, research articles, and case studies as well as being the recipient of several grants.
She was awarded her fellowship with the Royal College of Pathologists in 2014, continuing with QML Pathology as a consultant haematologist.
She maintains an active interest in all areas of diagnostic haematology, particularly haematologic morphology. She is committed to training/education, is an associate lecturer with the University of Queensland, and continues her involvement in clinical research.
